Uniden Bearcat 245 XLTI've owned the handheld BC245 scanner for probably about 5 years now, and its always been a dependable handheld scanner. I no longer carry the scanner and the battery pack has long since died, but it is still operational today. With AC power adapter, and improvised antenna from an old magnetic base cell phone antenna, it now runs in my server area. Its connected to a Dell Poweredge 2300 server, and streams the Sullivan County Tennessee Public service band out to interested internet listeners. a discontinued unit now, but was advertised as a second generation trunk
tracking scanner. It was a 12 band scanner with 300 channel memory, that
provided EDACS or Motorola trunk activity along with conventional
coverage. The bands are as follows:
